Greetings,
My motherboard and CPU broke and i need to buy a new one.
Which motherboards ir CPUs do you guys recommend
My specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5-7500 Quad-Core 3.4GHz
GPU: MSI GTX 1080
Monitor: LG 34UC79G-B IPS 34" UW-UXGA 21:9 144Hz FreeSync
RAM: G.SKILL Trident Z RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3600MHz CL19
Motherboard ATX MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon

Solution
Your current cpu won’t work in a 300 series motherboard even though the same socket. Intel prevent it, only 100 series with a BIOS update or a 200 series.

It’s hard to recommend Intel if not looking at i7 or i9. They really don’t have anything I’d recommend as alternative to the 3600. The i5’s only have half the thread count.

What is your budget?

It is rare for a CPU to break without physical damage? What is the issue you are experiencing?
Although i dont think the CPU is damaged the shop that examined the PC Said that the CPU and pins in the socket of the motherboard are damaged. My PC turns on and immediatly off, not even posting. Going to the shop tomorow to get more info.

Dont want to overbuy but dont want to get mid range components. Top range but not an absurd amount

What do you plan to do with your system and what is your budget?

Ah ok, bent motherboard pins is generally time for a new board.

Since you don't have a budget set, ill give some recommendations at different price points:

PCPartPicker Part List

Type|Item|Price
:----|:----|:----
Motherboard | ASRock B450M PRO4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard | $83.98 @ Newegg
Custom | AMD CPU RYZEN 5 1600 AM4 | $85.00
| Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts |
| Total | $168.98

PCPartPicker Part List

Type|Item|Price
:----|:----|:----
CPU | AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor | $199.99 @ Amazon
Motherboard | MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard | $114.89 @ B&H
| Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts |
| Total | $314.88

You could go with a higher-end CPU like an I7 9700k, but the price jumps massively and honestly the performance over a 3600x isnt worth the jump in cost unless you have a GPU like a 2080 super or more.

Do you have any recommendations for an Intel processor and around the same as the 3600X?
And in case my CPU is fine, i was thinking of buying either a Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 or a z390 xtreme.
Which is better in terms of cost/efficiency?

Gaming and was thinking of streaming

Ok if you prioritize gaming over streaming, then go with the Ryzen 5 3600. But if you prioritize streaming over gaming, then go with the Ryzen 7 2700x.

The 3600 will provide higher fps and better gaming performance. The 2700x will be better equipped to handle streaming, as it has 8 cores and 16 threads compared to the 3600's 6c-12t.

However, if you want the 3600's gaming performance combined with the 2700x's streaming performance, then there's the Ryzen 7 3700x. But this CPU goes for about $300 in the US (may be cheaper depending on where you live) compared to the 3600's price tag of $175 in the US. The 2700x is usually priced around the same as the 3600, but for some reason, it is going for $280 right now in the US, however the price could drop.

For the motherboard, I'd stick with b450 no matter which of these CPUs you get because the only real benefit x570 offers is PCIe gen4, which is something that isn't worth it for gamers and streamers at your price point. In my opinion, the 2 best b450 motherboards that are set at a reasonable price are the MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX and ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F.
