Alright so lets get started.

Original Specs:
AMD Ryzen 3 1200
AMD Radeon 550
8 gb of ram dual channel
128 gb ssd for booting
1 th hdd for games
Asrock Fatal1ty x370 Gaming X

My pc works, i know that by replacing my new cpu (amd ryzen 5 1500x) with my old one, which boots. I tried updating bios to latest, and my pc still wont boot on the ryzen 5. The motherboard lights up as if ready to boot, but when i power it on absolutely nothing happens. So i replace my new ryzen 5 with my old ryzen 3 and it works just fine. Again, my bios is up to date. So i cleared cmos, as recommended, and properly did it. Yet nothing happened. Ive tried both CPUs when the mobo was inside and outside of the case. Same results

Please help.

Solution
Since you already tried the usual steps, UEFI update, CMOS battery re-install, board outside case ect. it seems like the CPU itself could be faulty. Though rare, it does happen. As you mentioned, the Ryzen 3 works fine, and the new CPU doesn't.

It might be, but i just noticed my ryzen 3 was overclocked. Does putting in a new cpu in a motherboard that had an overclocked cpu beforehand factor in?
