New cpu computer won't boot (intel i5 4590) (Asus h81m - plus)

I have just bought the Intel i5 4590 to replace my old i3 4130. I have installed it into my rig, but when I try to boot it the fans come on and the motherboard light comes on but no display. My motherboard is the Asus H81M - Plus.

What bios version do you have on that mobo (you'll probably have to put the I# back in for this)?
You need '0804' to support the 4590.

As stated, its likely that you need a newer bios version for that cpu.

Make sure CPU is in correctly, no bent pins on mobo, also make sure the cpu power cable is plugged in to motherboard and check for any other loose connections.

I am running older then that I think! I am 0505. How would I got about updating?

Select your OS, goto bios & get the version you need. Either in the manual, or w/ the download should be Asus recommendation of how to install their bios. FOLLOW their directions.
