New Cpu has reduced detected memory

Hi there,
I have recently purchased an fx6300 cpu. Installed it ok, but found that windows only recognises 12GB out of my 16GB of RAM (2x8GB), with only 8GB usable. However, when I switched back to my old processor, all 16GB were recognised. CPU-Z is recognising all 16GB.

No pins on the cpu are obviously bent and the processor went in ok.

My system is
Gigabyte GA-78lmt-usb3 motherboard
AMD 5850 Graphics card
2x8GB 1333Mhz RAM
EVGA 500W PSU

Any ideas how to fix this?

Which revision of the motherboard do you have, it should be on a white label down by the audio, on the edge of the board ?

You may require a bios update, most of the updates are for CPU microcode, however, theres 6 revisions of that board and you need to get the correct one.

I have revision 4.1, and I updated the BIOS to f4 already
