Hi, I have built my machine about 7 months ago, and recently I'm having some issues with crashs. Two weeks ago I started playing Overwatch 2 and the PC started randomly rebooting while playing it, and the game was crashing constantly, I did a search and a lot of people was having the same problem while playing overwatch, so I thought that the game was the problem and updated my GPU drivers just to be sure. But now every game is crashing, and the pc reboots while playing other games too, then yesterday I downloaded MSI Afterburner and it was displaying that the CPU temperature was about 100°C while playing Phasmophobia, and it was supposed to be a low game. I immediatly turned it off and checked if the cooler was badly fitted, apparently it was okay and the fans RPM was pretty normal too. So I bought a new cooler to replace the intel stock one, and two fans kits. After that I got really paranoid about the temperature and was testing if it was still high after I checked the cooler. While playing phasmophobia, it was about 60°C, but at pubg it heated up close to 90°C, and everytime I open Opera Gx it spikes from 50° to 70°. I'm really layman and didn't know if it's normal, so I asked my girlfriend to download afterburner and check on her pc, when she did it, according to the software, her CPU temperature was constantly at 100°C while just navigating. It makes no sense, because she has the PC for two months and never had any kind of problems, then we tried HWMonitor and HWinfo and it stills at 100 °C. What should we do? Is it possible that the softwares are mismeasuring? What could cause that temperature? Is that the reason of the pc crashing? I'm really confused and it is giving me anxiety because I'm affraid of damaging my components, but I gotta work :(

My specs:
i3 10105F (my gf has a i5 10400F)
RTX 3050
16GB RAM
500W PSU

What is the make/model of the cpu coolers in question?
What is the make/model of the case and fan arrangement?
What is your ambient temperature?

Start hwmonitor.
Look at the minimum temperature. It should be some 10-15c. over ambient.
Much higher, and the cooler is not well installed, or there is insufficient airflow to the cooler.

The cooler is the intel stock that comes in the cpu box.
My case is a T-Dagger G10B and it has no fans.
The ambient temperature is about 20-25c.
The cooler really should be badly installed, but I don't have thermal paste right now to reinstall it, so I think i'll wait until the new one arrive, and with the fans that I bought, it should have a better airflow.
But I'm concerned about the veracity of the information these softwares are giving me, can I trust it? It doesn't makes sense that my girlfriend's cpu is reaching 100°C, it never had any symptom.

A intel processor will constantly check it's temperatures and will slow down or even shut off if it detects a dangerous temperature.
That point is around 100c.
Usually a pc does not shut down or show any symptoms when 100c. is reached. It just slows down a bit and you may not notice.

It looks like three front intake fans can be fitted to your case.
I would install at least two. With no fans in a case, heat just builds up.
You need airflow to get the heat out of your case.
For your processors, the stock cooler should suffice.

----------------how to mount the stock Intel cooler--------------

The stock Intel cooler can be tricky to install.
A poor installation will result in higher cpu temperatures.
If properly mounted, you should expect temperatures at idle to be 10-15c. over ambient.

To mount the Intel stock cooler properly, place the motherboard on top of the foam or cardboard backing that was packed with the motherboard.
The stock cooler will come with paste pre applied, it looks like three grey strips.
The 4 push pins should come in the proper position for installation, that is with the pins rotated in the opposite direction of the arrow,(clockwise)
and pulled up as far as they can go.
Take the time to play with the pushpin mechanism until you know how they work.
Orient the 4 pins so that they are exactly over the motherboard holes.
If one is out of place, you will damage the pins which are delicate.
Push down on a DIAGONAL pair of pins at the same time. Then the other pair.
When you push down on the top black pins, it expands the white plastic pins to fix the cooler in place.
If you do them one at a time, you will not get the cooler on straight.
Lastly, look at the back of the motherboard to verify that all 4 pins are equally through the motherboard, and that the cooler is on firmly.
This last step must be done, which is why the motherboard should be out of the case to do the job. Or you need a case with a opening that lets you see the pins.
It is possible to mount the cooler with the motherboard mounted in the case, but you can then never be certain that the push pins are inserted properly
unless you can verify that the pins are through the motherboard and locked.

If you should need to remove the cooler, first run the cpu to heat it up and soften the paste before shutting down and powering off the pc. That makes it easy to unstick the old cooler.
Turn the pins counter clockwise to unlock them.
You will need to clean off the old paste and reapply new if you ever take the cooler off.
Clean off old paste with alcohol and a lint free paper like a coffee filter.
Apply new paste sparingly. A small rice sized drop in the center will spread our under heat and pressure.

It is hard to use too little.

Thanks for your time, I'll install the fans and replace the cooler as soon as I can.
