New cpu, lag spikes, is my pc broken?

Hey, so i bought a new CPU, and now whenever i play games, once a minute i get fps drop to 33-40fps and it just freezez. I went from a bad cpu to a good one and somehow get a deacrese in performance

I need some massive help, ask me what you need to see and i will try to help you as much as you try to help me! Thanks guys.

Motherboard: Z97X-Gaming 3
CPU: Intel Pentium i5-4690k
Geforce GTX 750 ti
8gig ram
windows 8.1 pro

You either have a Pentium processor (bad) or an i5-4690K (excellent), but not a conflation of the two. Which is it?
