New CPU/MB feeling much slower

Upgraded my PC from a H110m Pro-VD / i5 6500 to a Z170a Tomahwak/ i5 6600k, and my system still feels really sluggish after a complete windows recent and re-downloading everything. Games keep freezing, and applications are taking too long to access and respond. Also did a benchmark using Intel's extreme tuning utility and got a score of 990, and I'm not sure how low that is. Haven't overclocked anything yet. Is there anything else I could try?

Sapphire Rx480 4gb
2x4 kingston ddr4 ram @ 2133mhz
600w silver 80+ psu

also nothing is overheating, nothing is going over 60 degrees celcius
