Hey there,

Im looking to upgrade my system.
Currently i got a i7-8700 sitting on a TUF Z370 Pro Gaming mobo, a 7900 XT, and 32GB DDR4 RAM.

The system is plenty capable to do my daily tasks and gaming.
However.. i have some money burning a hole in my pocket that i wanted to spend it getting my system up to date.

My main use case really is gaming at 1080. (no plan to upgrade the monitor)
I do the occasional rendering of YT videos. (nothing major though)

My plan was to get these components:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/BCxXh3
  • Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 (CMT32GX5M2B6000Z30K)
  • Asus TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WIFI
  • AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
I want to be under 1000€ (the more(less) the merrier i guess)
Would this fit good together, and suit my needs?

Let me know what you think.

All I can think of is if you over clock careful with the voltage. If you run into ram compatibly issues let us know. There is no bios updates needed for the motherboard. Looks like good to go.

You are overspending on your Mobo. Are you missing any IO feature with a lower priced mobo?

Daily tasks and gaming is not a good combo for a X3d processor.
X3d is great for gaming only. Any other work is better done via the underlying processor.

Since you have a budget, save some by reusing your DDR4 ram.
Use a DDR4 capable B760 motherboard and a suitable 13th/14th gen intel processor like a I5-13600K or i5-14700K.
Air cooling is fine.
Here is a list from Noctua of suitable coolers for a 14700K:

Well, I need at least 8x USB-a and dont want to have dongles hanging, but guessing there a few boards in that 200€ class that have that? need to look for a bit.
Reason i picked the asus was bc of good reviews and my current is TUF aswell. never had problems with it.

My main focus is gaming, and all the benches i have seen say the 7800x3d is the best there. The other daily tasks are web browsing, mail or word.
I really wanted to go all new with this upgrade, and plan on either selling or passing the "old" parts down to a friend that wants to upgrade aswell.
