New cpu no display

I bought i7 cpu and put in my mb then i started pc everything worked but it was not giving me display. There were some bent pins in socket but i fixed it lately and my old i5was running well for long period but after i switched to i7 it wont give display. I put back old i5 and it gave me display it was working well so i tried i7 but no display again and after that not even old i5 wont give me display too. I checked new i7 on my friends pc aswell and it wont give me display there aswell can it be the bios update problem or cpu is faulty ? I knpw that i ha e to buy new mb but i wanna know if the new i7 is working or not so i could return and buy mb instead

What is the System spec?

Did you go to the motherboard manufacturer website and check the cpu supported list?
