After Christmas, I was given somewhere around 300 dollars for a new CPU. I currently have an AMD build:
CPU: AMD-FX 6350
GPU: Cerberus GTX 1070 Ti.
I want my own computer so I also desire to build a new one and throw my old 750 Ti in this one while taking my 1070 Ti with me. Should I save up and build an Intel computer or buy a nice processor for this one? I also play VR and it is extremely annoying in the small space I have in my sun-room; my room is way bigger.

Reuse the rest of your current build. Is how I would do it but if you want $300 for everything except the GPU it can be done

I agree with Supahos suggestion. AMD's older FX processor motherboards don't really have any good CPUs worth upgrading to.

A Ryzen 2600 processor would be a big improvement though, and pretty competitive with Intel's current hardware, especially if overclocked a bit. You would need a new motherboard and RAM to make that happen, but that could be done for not much more than $300 USD. And with a few more parts, you could complete that second system.
