Hello everyone,
I am thinking of upgrading my CPU some time in the future. I believe that I will need a new motherboard, even though mine can support an i7. I currently have an i5-7400 and a b250m-a prime motherboard. Should I upgrade to Ryzen, and get the new 2000 series, or should I stick to Intel, and get a coffee lake? And which motherboard do I need for either?

Solution
Intel is slightly better at gaming. Though you will do fine with both Intel and Ryzen.

If you want to stick to Intel, I'd get the I5 8400.
For Ryzen, I'd get either the Ryzen 5 1600 or the new soon to be launched Ryzen 5 2600.

No need to get a Ryzen 7 unless you're gonna do heavy multitasking.

depends on what you want to do

for gaming you simply drop in a i7 7700

you can skip either current gen

Which one will be better for streaming? I was originally upgrading so I could stream (can't stream on OBS even with a low bitrate)

Which is better for steaming? Should I get an i7 or ryzen 7 for that? I am currently having trouble steaming with my processer. (Sorry for posting double, did it from my phone.)
