i just got done building my new pc
amd ryzen 5 2600x
gtx 1080
i have the amd cpu cooler should i changed it ? im getting 80-89 C while gaming and streaming

80-90C° is a high temperature. To make sure no damage is done to the CPU due to heat, let's try fix the problem.

Make sure that the CPU cooler is properly installed. The heatsink should be touching the CPU.
Have you applied new thermal paste? Coolers won't work that well without thermal paste.
Is the fan on the cooler spinning at a fast enough rate to cool the CPU down?
Do you have case fans to pull in cold air and push out hot air? Case airflow is key to good temperatures.

Feel free to comment any questions or concerns.

Hope this helped!

Sounds hot.. if that is correct.. I would try new paste and a ryzen temp program.. I have HWMonitor and with water cooling I am sitting with an 1800X on an X470 chipset around 42C to 48C max while playing Battlefield games. I used to run hotter but I repaplied the paste as the first time I put it on I didn't put enough on the CPU and it ran in the max of 60Cish area..

I didnt apply any thermal paste on the cpu it was on the stock cooler when i first opened i made sure its sitting on the cpu also how can i know if my fan pull in cool and pushing out the hot air ?

i can try that i even took the side panel window and put a home fan lol i know its probably not gonna do anything but hey worth the try i guess

ill try that i was even thinking about getting 2-3 front panel fans maybe that would help

OH stock paste sucks normally.. it can be OK but yea.. it also depends on your case and room temps and such.. if you don't have good air movement in the case it will get HOT.. I personally never use stock heatsinks (Intel OR amd)

right now its on 72 with streaming and playing
i was thinking of buying a new cpu cooler and couple of front panel fans

Please download and install Hwmonitor and upload a screenshot of it showing CPU/GPU and motherboard clock, temp, freq, and usage at idle and under moderate load, to check whether your CPU and your system in general has proper airflow and cooling

this is the link for the picture

Thanks for the upload:
- it seems your GPU runs decently cool at about 55 degrees under 60% load (probably gaming?)
- Your CPU has a decent temp but needs to be a bit lower, CPU usage, Fan and clock are not visible in the window you captured (+ signs collapsed) and whether it's under load or while system idle, CPU fan entry is not visible at all and might be captured by a different running software.
- Motherboard at 35 under load is decent temp and reflects decent overall case airflow.

Thanks again,
the Hwmonitor window could not fit all those parameters.
Last request: can you please do 2 screenshots per mode ( to cover all hwmonitor window scroll) with all the major + signs expanded graphics and processor:
mode1. At idle mode, no gaming or heavy software or browser running
mode2. Under load mode = after 10 minutes of gaming
