Hello TH!
I bought a new processor for my gaming PC. I installed it today and have been keeping an eye on the temperatures.
The CPU is an Intel Quad Core i7 4790K. It is not OC'd.
It is running at 4.20 GHz average.
The temperatures shows are an average of 45-50C, but it does jump to ?70C irregularly when I really punish it while installing new stuff, playing heavy games etc..
Is this a good temperature?
If not, how do I limit these temperatures?
Thank you.

Solution
Yes this is normal for your CPU >70C considering you have the stock CPU cooler and you're under load.
This CPU will start throttling at ~90C , so you're safe.
If you want to overclock it go for an aftemarket CPU Cooler.

I'd probably cry if it got around 90.
It is still hitting an absolute max of 70, average 50 in game. All is well.

With the stock cooler , I must say that's pretty damn good. I saw 4790k's reaching 80+ degrees on stock, so you're totally safe!
