I recently upgraded from an Intel Pentium(R) to an i5-7600K. Everything was working just fine until a few days ago when some a**hole from work somehow got into the house and thought it would be hilarious to pull my power cord while I was playing. Now, I just get a BSOD loop on startup and I’ve narrowed it down that it’s the CPU causing the problem because it boots fine with my old CPU. Is there a way I can recover the new CPU and get it to work?

Solution
First step - Check BIOS settings and revert any overclock to auto settings
Second step - Windows repair
Third step - remove any hardware cards and retest

Also, I just completed a system restore with my old cpu to before this happened (when the new cpu was still working) and I’m still getting BSoD. Some of the codes are Kmode exception not handled, apc index mismatch, driver irql not less or equal, kernel auto boost invalid lock release, system thread exception not handled
