New custom loop build questions!!!

I have a new custom loop build from ground up. I want to test all of the components before installation because I don't want to have to tear apart a full loop after building because of a bad component. There is no stock cooler, a preinstalled water block on the GPU, and overall, the system is costing roughly $6500. How do I go about it without running the risk of damaging a component in the process?

turn on the system without the liquid.
once you see you get the bios screen, just turn the system off.
