I have just moved from h100i to custom loop.
I noticed that I have higher temps than my h100i setup.
h100i:
prime95 test >>40c-46c(using AI suite 3) 50-55c ( real temp)
custom loop:
prime95 test >> 45-50c(AI suite) 58-60c( real temp)
i have a 4670k cpu and 770 gtx
custom loop:
rad: XSPC ax360 + ax240
blocks : xspc raystom + xspc razor 770gtx
res: xspc photon 170/D5 combo
I have my res laying horizontally because i couldn't install it vertically.
and i noticed that my gpu temps dropped by about 5-10c

Solution
With thermal paste it's important to use as little as possible because too much will act as an insulator and restrict the transfer of heat. Spread it in a very thin layer , it's meant to fill in all the micro cracks and scratches so there is a uniform smooth surface.

Running the pump too low will cause less heat to be transferred , I rum mine on the fastest speed. The reservoir should not be sucking air , since it's in a horizontal position then you should make sure that the intake is under water.

pump running at speed 3 and i lowered it to 2 because it seems that the photon res/d5 in horizontal position is sucking air.
no water temp sensor.
by reseating cpu block u mean i should remove it and apply new thermal paste and put it back again ?

i will reinstall the cpu block and report back.
about the photon with d5 combo: im using one g1/4 to pour water in the res and another one taking water out, which one that should fully underwater

this picture from above.
i didn't even do cable management yet waiting to solve those problems xD

i've tilted the res a lil i hope it works and btw the tube that is pushing water from the res has always fast moving bubbles no matter what I do to the case, i turned it in every position possible.

As I had said the port that's taking water out of the reservoir should be completely under water. In the picture I can see why your having issues there is too much air getting into the loop and air will not transfer the heat. You have to find a way that works with the outlet tube taking in just liquid.

You may not have to reseat the CPU water block if you can get the air out of the loop.

after tilting the reservoir and bled some air the temps dropped about 3 degrees.
now i will reseat the CPU but just to be sure a stock 4670k under prime95 stress test and water cooled with this setup what is the temperature range I should expect
