New Dell 4600

I just got my new Dell 4600 and busy setting it up the way I want it.
But I have what is probably a really stupid question. My Dell came with
a DVD burner. Can it read my regular CD's, in particular the ones I
backed all my documents onto with my ex computer's CD burner? TIA
