New Desktop Build

Hello,
I am thinking about building my first desktop from scratch and was looking for any input on how to spend around $750. I am looking for more of a gaming PC. I already have a 500GB laptop HDD that I will use as a back up to a SSD(it a ssd is in budget). I am very well versed if working on all computers but have never built one.
