well i am planning to build a new desktop pc. i want to be stable and i want to run all new games at 50 - 60 fps 1080 on high graphics.
i am thinking an intel i5 6400 for cpu, 8gb ram ddr4 2133 mhz kingston hyper x and gigabyte h170-hd3 ddr4. for gpu something like asus gtx 950 strix, a simple sata 3 hdd and a 550w psu. any opinions/suggestions?

Well depending on the type of games you're after you may need something with a bit more grunt than a 950. I'd personally go for a 970/390 or for a 380x as a minimum. May I also advise you not to cheap out on your psu-it can pretty much make or break your build. There is a thread dedicated on providing info on the quality of PSUs so check if you can get a tier 1 or 2 one for a decent price

DDR3 is CCHEEAAPPPP right now, i'd got down a gen and do a Haswell Based system.
