New Desktop Wifi Problem (Using EnGenius eub9603h Wireless Adapter)

I had just built a new desktop the other day and everything is working fine except for the wifi on it. I got a usb EnGenius eub9603h Wireless Adapter for about $35 at a Frys. Now it seems decent but i get about 50 -70 ping on most games, when on my laptop, which the specs are horrid, I get 20 ping on all games. They are the same distance from the router as well. My laptop and everyone else's laptops get 20 ping, except on my desktop i get high ping on it. Whats wrong with this? Should I try to fix this somehow or just get a new wireless adapter?

I would try to ping the router itself. Most cases this is very low number but if desktop shows more i would suspect a driver issue. You could also try the USB adapter on your laptop and see if there is any difference. I would also try the desktop cabled to the router to see what the best speed you can expect is. Sometime it is things like video drivers and not the network drivers when you are talking about performance in games.
