When you say multiple displays do you mean Eyefinity or a dual monitor display?

If you mean Eyefinity, technically, the CAT 9.12 Hotfix is supposed to support crossfire with Eyefinity, but in reality it doesn't. The exception is the 5970.

If you mean a dual monitor setup then yes.

It will support dual as well as triple LCD's display (EyeFinity)

If you want to set up a triple LCD setup you won't necessarily need 2 cards to run a triple LCD setup

And Yes, the can be crossfired by the same group of cards
e.g.
5770 can be crossfired with 5850 but not with 5850, 5870, 5670 or 5970
and
58xx series card can be crossfired with only 58xx cards.

Hope you understand

I was thinking of bringing home a couple of monitors and playing with Eyefinity on my crossfired 5850's. What do you mean by the 9.12 hotfix doesnt really support crossfire and Eyefinity? thanks in advance.

On my rig I have 2 5970s in quadfire.

Eyefinity works for everyday use (internet, office etc) BUT for gaming I have to disable one of the cards in order to get playable frame rates across three screens. In quadfire I get less then 5 fps ave but when I disable one of the cards I get 60+ ave.

Maybe it's a 5970 thing or just my rig, but the reality is I have an expensive paperweight when I'm gaming.

Hopefully ATI will address this issue in their upcoming driver, however after installing the 10.1 betas I had WORSE perfromance and rollbacked to 9.12 hotfix.

Good luck.

Yeah it was a ball drop for ATI to have their "eyefinity" for large resolution gaming but somehow lack giving it crossfire capability at launch and have troubles even this late in.

2 display should work like a charm as it has for a long time now, but eyefinity will only work well with 1 card.

hopefully they can get that all panned out sooner or later for everyone, i already have to consult a friend about him jumping the gun on that.

Hmmm...one 5850 (overclocked) might be able to do Eyefinity but Im not holding my breath on a quality display and framerate.

Appreciate the feedback.
Ill bring the monitors home and see what it looks like on a single 5850 and keep the fingers crossed that the next driver release improves upon this..

How about mixing sizes? I was *thinking* of 2 16x12's surrounding my 19x12 main monitor. Anyone do mixed monitors?
