I just bought a new 4790k, cooler, and mobo. I got it all installed, works great. I think I updated the drivers right, but I'm getting a problem every so often where my screen freezes for a few minutes and any audio gets really slow and distorted. Anyone have an idea about what the problem is?

Hi,

Check you temperature to see your cpu is not overheating, also check cable to be sure they are well plugged in. Also run adwcleaner and roguekiller malware byte to rule out malware.

Check the version of your bios to be sure it's up to date for the cpu

Ok, after posting I had rerun all of my computer stuff (new desk) so that can be ruled out. I have been checking on the CPU temps anyway on account of it being new, and it hasn't reached 50C. I ran the programs you suggested as well. I am working on the bios now. Thanks

EDIT: I checked the latest Bios on Asrock's site and the version I was running and I'm up to date.
