Question New exhaust fan runs at high rpm

Hi guys I took a exhaust fan out of an old desktop for my new build but when I turn the pc on the fan goes to crazy high rpm. The rest of the fans run normal, is there any fixes for this?

I would unplug that fan as soon as possible.

Make and model fan (or old desktop if the fan is not marked).

Where are you plugging in the old fan? What motherboard connection?

Is the old exhaust fan truly needed? What other fans are installed, where are they installed, and what airflow directions?
