New external Hard Drive clicking sound first few seconds and stops

Hello,


my new seagate external hd 3tb not showing in bios and windows.
it happened after hd fall from computer table this hd is also no side support.
first time it showed drive F and all files taking too long now its not showing i have recorded the clicking noise of this cheap hd.can i recover files or its gone

I don't think you can recover the drive and its data, if it's still in warranty, see if they'll take it and fix it

If not in warranty or they won't take it, try removing the HDD from the enclosure and plugging it into a computer directly

Hi,
You can find the info related to a clicking hard drive on this link. Since your drive fell, it is likely to be a head issue or damages on the SA...if so you can diagnose with MHDD which is a free software from hddguru. 😉

If this is not a head issue, the the live pcb swap might be the option if you can make sure this a SA issue.

data is recoverable, but it will cost money to get it. Usually not cheap
