Hi.
Iwe been looking for a new monitor that is Full HD.

It should be either 22"-24"

So far i have been looking at the BenQ E2200HD and the ViewSonic vx2260wm, they are both cheap, Full HD, and use less than 45 watts which is a major plus here as it is of the grid.

Any sugestions for a good cheap and not so power hungry monitor is welcome as long as they are well founded and i will pull the trumpets and drums and play for a while for any whom might come up with some LCD review links, because they seem far appart when i search for the.

Thanks in advance

Looking at the ViewSonic vx2260wm and it seems like a better design than the benq E2200HD especially with the buttons at the front.

I had the E2200HD but not tested the VX2200WM. One of the thing I don't like about the benq is that you have to confirm the settings before you can adjust Higher or Lower; and it's not easy because the buttons are on the right side of the monitor. The other is that it's not adjustable stand. The thing I like abut benq is that it's bright.

If they're equal in performance and quality then my choice is VX2200VM.

Hey rexter I was recently looking into buying the BenQ E2200HD, I already posted a few posts on other peoples forums until finding this one where you mentioned you 'had' the e2200hd? Did you return it or sell it or it broke? I'm searching for some first hand testimonials on the monitor, and I'd imagine you'd be one of them? Could you share your experience with the monitor with me? Honestly, I really like the monitor, and would very much like to buy it but due to past experiences (purchasing eletronics without doing prior research, left me dissappointed at times) I would still want some feedback before buying it!

So tell me what did you think of it? It was bright? That's good, I love brightness hahaha. By the way, do you have any idea what the difference between the BenQ E2200HD and BenQ E2200HDA is? I'll wait for your response, thanks!

Sorry, I've been busy and haven’t got a chance to check this forum.

I had it for a week but sold it to a friend. I didn't like the idea of controls being on side not the front or the top, but to my luck I end up with another one when I bought my TV good thing it has a remote.

Anyhow, the E2200HD have good picture quality. I use the supplied D-sub connector. 1980x1080res. Using DVI may be better but I don’t have extra DVI connector so I didn't get to try DVI. The Gigabytes MA780GM-S2HP motherboard with onborad video works great. I connected my laptop using HDMI and it accepts it easily. Using Corel WinDVD 9 playing @ 720p or using other enhancement settings; the movie looks really nice. But it's LCD so watching dark scenes movies at night you'll see some lights casting from the edge of the monitor.
There's one button to switch from 3 different sources D-SUB/DVI/HDMI. The speakers are only good for screen savers and warning tones. There’s no way to make it better using tone controls. Laptop speakers are better than what benq used.

Because the monitor was bright I end up setting the controls to: brightness 30% and contrast 35%, You may want to use different settings but to me it just really bright. When editing pictures I put it back to its default preset so see the photo better.

Unfortunately it didn't last long, as I mentioned earlier I didn’t like where the controls and the way you need to confirm so set it. So I sold it. May be I'm just too picky.

I don't know what it the difference between the E2200HDA and E2200HD, I guessing it's ANALOG? or European models? I don't know.

Hope that help.

I think you're right, perhaps it's a personal preference type of matter. Because I actually really like the screen on the BenQ E2200HD, because the buttons are on the side. I feel that this way the screen is a lot cleaner. I guess I'm sort of OCD to some extent and really hate it when electronics have a bunch of buttons and stuff. Perhaps I'm more old school I don't know. I tend to never mess with the adjustsments either. I'll do it once and never do it ever again. If I need to get it adjusted I probably wouldn't know how either hahahhaa. Not good with those things. I don't like it when they add a bunch of buttons on the front, I think it destroys the beauty of the monitor, but then again, it's my personal opinion.

By the way, I remember that the monitor's resolution is actually 1920x1080, am I correct? Is there a difference in the two specs? I'm not exactly sure.

And also, I was reviewing your first comment and you wrote "The other is that it's not adjustable stand." about the BenQ E2200HD. What did you mean that it's not an adjustable stand? In what way was it not able to be adjustable?

Oh yeah. A few more questions. Sorry for pestering you! 720p means 720 pixels right?

And what's D-SUB, DVI, and HDMI?

And yeah about the speakers. Hahahah. I personally never rely on built-in monitor speakers as I believe you should always have your own speaker system!

Yes it's 1920X1080.

My mistake on the stand, I meant to say there's no hieght adjust So you can't riase it up or down.

The 720p means 720 lines progresive scan. More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:TV_resolution

Dang. Why would you need a monitor to be raised though? Is your table not high enough? I've personally never had a problem with adjusting the height of the monitor.

Thanks a lot for the links!

And I didn't know D-sub was the same as VGA Connector. Was it always called D-sub or was it changed recently? I always knew it as VGA connector, and video cards (graphic cards) as VGA cards, hahaha.

Anyway, I'm really interested in the BenQ E2200HD. Been looking at it, maybe I will buy it soon and give it a shot!
