Hi guys. I posted this last week, but I tried searching for it and do not see it. Chances are I screwed something up :) So, sorry in advance if it's still there and I just missed it like an idiot. But, I am working on a new PC build for myself.

I dont remember anymore all of the specifics of my current build, but I know I have a decent asus motherboard with an i5 3300ish, aftermarket cooler for the cpu, HAF 932 tower with 8 fans, 2x 1TB HDD, 1000 WATT Corsair PSU, 2x 480 GTX SLI, and 12 GB Ram on Wini7 64 bit. That's off the top of my head, I'd have to look for the receipt and stuff for specifics when I get home if needed.

Approximate Purchase Date: As finances allow, but within the next 2-3 months. I already purchased the PSU and an SSD for the OS, and I will pick up parts as finances allow each month.

Budget Range: 3200$-3800$ or about there, after the rebates, before the shipping.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Photoshop, Video Editing, Watching movies, Surfing the Nets.

Are you buying a monitor: Maybe, right now I'm using my LED TV, but I'm thinking to get a monitor for when I'm at my desk for work.

Parts to Upgrade: Building a new one from scratch so upgrading everything.

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Probably NewEgg since there is no tax charged and most shipping is free or very cheap.

Location: Chicago, IL and surrounding suburbs :)

Parts Preferences: I've always had an INTEL CPU, and my GPUs at one point were all RADEON, then I switched to NVIDIA and haven't looked back since really. But I have no preference in parts as long as there's no issues and easy to troubleshoot.
CASE: COOLER MASTER HAF X Blue Edition - 209.99$
MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE G1.ASSASSIN2 LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard - 349.99$
PROCESSOR: Intel Core i7-3930K Sandy Bridge-E 3.2GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) - 569.99$
CPU COOLER: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Water Cooler - 109.99$
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 - 214.99$
OS SSD: OCZ Agility 4 AGT4-25SAT3-256G 2.5" 256GB SATA III - 191.99$
GAMING SSD: OCZ Vector Series VTR1-25SAT3-512G 2.5" 512GB SATA III - 549.99$
MISC SSD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 ST3000DM001 3TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" x2 - 279.98$ (139.99$ each)
PSU: CORSAIR AX1200i 1200W Digital ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply - 329.99$
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 690 Hydro Copper 1199.99$
Althought I might wait for a superclocked or hydrocopper version of that. And at some point I'd like to get another 690 GTX.

Total: 4006.89$

Now granted, I will only buy the 256 GB HD first, I'll get the other SSD and the 2 HDDs a little later as money permits. And the 690GTX will be the last thing I buy. I will use one of my 480GTX's until then, So that's about $2k that I don't have to spend right away.

Also, I can't decide between the TITAN or 690GTX...or 2x680....or wait till 7 series...? :D

Overclocking: Maybe CPU, Most likely GPU.

SLI or Crossfire: Yes

Your Monitor Resolution: It's 1080p right now, I use my tv. I'd probably consider a large monitor so I have it on my desk for work too.

Additional Comments: I currently play heavily modded Skyrim and I enjoy games like Battlefield 3 and Planetside 2 etc.

Why Are You Upgrading: I put together this one about 3 years ago. Technology has changed and I have learned more about it as well. The current PC was my first attempt to put a pc together. I always planned to upgrade to an SSD and get better cards etc, but with time I never did as my current system could push all the games to max level with no problem. Recently there have been some stutters with the new higher res mods on Skyrim and I figured maybe it's time to upgrade a little bit :) I will give my current PC to my brother. I just picked up corsair h60 cooler for the 2x 480s I have in there, so it should give him more life on the cards as well. I want the new one to last me at least 3 years if not more with higher potential for upgrading.

This system is going to have a bit more performance than what you would get out of the build you were looking at.

A couple things that i noticed if you want to stay with your build:

The 690 hydro copper is meant for a custom water cooled loop, you will be wasting money on a card if you get that... the tri fire 7970s will outperforms any nivida setup Hierarchy chart (for your high end options of this system):

3x7970
3x680
2x7970
2x680
690 = 2x670
Titan
7970
680
670

The H100i really is not that great the Noctua D-14 performs a lot better at a lower price.

Everything else is fine I kept mostly the same parts, just with same performance/lower price.

If you just want to throw money at something for e-peen, then either of those builds is swell.

If you want to have a system that will handle anything for several years and spend a more reasonable amount of money, please see http://pcpartpicker.com/p/IluL ($2100)

Side by side, you won't be able to tell them apart up to 1200p on a single monitor (with the exception of maybe Crysis 3). Only reason for the X79 setup would be if you render for a living and time is money so every second counts.

That looks awesome thank you :) That Motherboard looks really sexy too <3. Now do we like the PSU better than the corsair? And I have seen someone else recommend to go with 7970s over the 680s and the 690. How are they with temps and cooling and such :) JW. But, that looks great, thank you so much. This PC Parts picker thing is awesome.

Anyway, again. Thank you so much :)
