New Gaming Build for 2013. $1.2k~ Budget Thoughts?

That's what I've got so far and a lot of people have told me it looks great, I'm looking to play modern games at Max-Very High settings at 1920x1080 for a few years, I can deal with lowering settings down to Very High once in a while to lock in a constant 60 FPS, I'm just sick of playing on all low.

I'm looking to be able to stream these games aswell.

I'll probably be looking to upgrade again in about 3 years or so, I'm thinking if I do it'll be another 670 for SLI, and a new water cooling solution for better overclocking potential.

Thoughts and opinions? This PC will be used primarily for gaming and some Microsoft Office work. This will also be my very first full build with new parts, everything else I've done has been repair and the like on other systems, I'm ecstatic to get this together, wish me luck! ^_^

My questions really lie in the Mechanical HDD brand, I've been hearing bad things about almost every brand and realize that there's more failure rate on HDDs than pretty much anything else, is the M4 not a very good SSD though at standard prices?

You could drop those down a bit and save at least $100.

Yeah, I would drop the Asus Sabertooth personally, I see a lot of people recommend the Gigabyte GA-Z77 family (though I've got no experience myself with them).

Well, they both look great, I didn't notice that all the parts were 90 percent black until they were all in the wish list, must be destiny!

I've taken a liking to the HAF case lineup from what I've looked at and don't want to skimp on features and ease of building, and the Sabertooth is just a great mobo overall isn't it? I want real reliability and performance for the price range, with possibility of expansion.

My monitor is a AOC that I bought when I moved about 4 months ago, picked up a Deathadder and a Blackwidow Ultimate along with it, I don't see any issues with it, I'm not looking to expand to dual monitor yet, maybe in three years.

For what it's worth, the HAF922 was a very nice case, and a dream to put together. The HAF912, lost some features, but wasn't bad.
I've never used the HAF932, so I can't compare it to the 922, but I wouldn't worry too much about dropping to there if you want to save some cash.

The fractal design define r4 is another nice case (i plan on getting one for myself soon) if you like a low key look, seen it recommended a few times.

I'm very, very interested in the R4 myself, a friend of mine sells custom builds and only uses Fractal cases and swears by them. I think I will save the funds and give it a shot.


What are people's thoughts on this article? Should I save $70 and get a 7950 Boost over the GTX 670?
