New Gaming Build Needed! Totally lost!

Hi! Trying to pull together a build, so I'll just go with the template any comments or suggestions would be great!
Approximate Purchase Date: ASAP going to start ordering as soon as I'm confident of all the parts.

Budget Range: flexible $1,500

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Almost entirely gaming. Only other thing would be for school.
Are you buying a monitor: nope

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg

Location: Fargo, ND. US

Parts Preferences: by brand or type: ASUS motherboard, and Intel CPU but can be persuaded easily
Overclocking: Maybe.. Don't know much about it, but will probably try.

SLI or Crossfire: Not initially, but possibly down the road i might.

Your Monitor Resolution: (e.g.: 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1440x900, 1600x1200, 1680x1050, 1920x1080, 1920x1200 or if you're upgrading please state what you'd want to get)

Additional Comments: Want to run Ultra or very good settings on games (or as good as possible with my budget)
I play a range of games like COD, Assassins Creed, Crysis(obviously won't get ultra on this ) and RPGs.

That would be with an ssd for a nice 780 build. All the parts are fairly nice and to save money a couple cornescan be cut easily, other parts are fairly nice, and you can sli later on if you want to. Without Sli and mainly newegg you can save 50 to 60 USD.

Wow, Thanks! I had a previous build I loved, but lost the parts list and this looks very very similar!! I have a couple questions though. Couldn't i get a nice CORSAIR water cooler for just as much money that would work better? Also what about the ROG motherboards? and what would be your suggestion for a non SLI mobo?

Sorry about the late response. It is a preference about cooling and for air, the d14 is pretty cool and silent here is Tom's review of it taking on closed loop systems. It is pretty good for the price with its only real downfalls being size, weight, and looks.

Abou the Rog motherboards, I never really looked into them as I never have really had the pure budget to go buy a motherboard like that, I am sure they are nice, if you want to tom's did review the pro, Seeing your reaction, I would at least get the pro, but unless you want he board for a matching color scheme and some more overclocking features I would just get the pro( it replaces my old suggested board)
