Hello everyone, I need some build advice again. I posted almost a year ago and then covid happened, and I'm sure things have changed since then. I've put a couple parts lists together and would like some opinions and suggestions.

Required info:
Approximate purchase date: within the next 2 weeks

Budget: USD $15-1800 (give or take, need to stay under $2000)

usage: Everything. Gaming, video editing, watching movies. Currently playing American Truck Simulator and use multiple android emulators for State of survival. Maybe Cyberpunk 2077

Monitor: not at the moment, using a 32" 1080 TV

Parts: I'd like to re-use what I can and currently have:

Tower:
Thermaltake Armor Series VA8003BWS Black Full Tower Case w/ 25CM Fan

Also I have a 4, 4TB storage drives

I've only ever had Intel, but I'm looking at AMD now.

I've come up with a couple different configurations I'd like thoughts on, or show me something better

  • Get rid of the case. It's 15 year old design and barely even resembles anything modern, much less having any modern design features.
  • Get rid of the ancient Thermaltake power supply. It does not belong in any new system and may potentially be dangerous at its age.
  • The 850 EVO would be ok for a spare drive. Use a new m.2 NVME drive for OS and apps.
  • You'll want a better cooler for an 8 core 16 thread CPU than the old CM212.
  • Do not take shortcuts on your build so you can buy the big expensive video card. Your system should be balanced with good parts selection from top to bottom.

I would like to do the build soon (2 weeks), and I'm hoping to get a new monitor by the end of the year most likely 2k / 4k. I also would like to keep a full size tower as well. Based on suggestion I will not re use anything I have and keep this system as a spare.
