New Gaming Build

Hi everyone,

I'm looking of constructing a new gaming rig and selling my old....
This is what i have planned atm:

CASE: Antec Dark Fleet DF85 Red
CPU : Intel i7 2600K Processor
GPU : Nvidia 570Gtx
MOBO: Sandybridge 2PCiex16 SLI mobo? any ideas?
PSU : Min. 700 Watt PSU (SLI)
HDD : 2TB HDD 7200 Rpm WD (check)
SSD : (16 a 32 Gigs)
CPUC:
ADD : Blu-Ray Reader
SCRD: Creative X-Fi Titanium (check)

(CPUC means a cooler for my cpu)

You can comment and improve where needed, i especially need a good mobo and PSU.

The ones with check behind it means that i already have that lying around,

Whats your budget?

You dont need a sound card onboard sound will be good enough.
HDDs are expensive already as it is if you really want the 2TB go for it
ASrock Z68 Motherboard will do
PSU get a 750W just in case
CPU if its just for gaming save the money and get the i5 2500k

I try not to exceed 1000, i already have a sound card and a 2TB hdd.
So i'll probably buy an SSD and an i7 just to be sure that my pc lasts for a while...
SO that mobo supports sandybridge and SLI?

i7 is useless unless you're doing video editing that takes advantage of hyper threading. It won't future proof your system.

Get an ASUS P8P67 or a P8Z68 for your motherboard. The P8Z68/GEN3 has PCIE 3.0 which future proofs it for both new video cards and for Ivy Bridge.

If you're not going to be doing extreme overclocking, get a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus or a Hyper 212 EVO.

SSD: get at least 64gb or else you will barely be able to fit your OS on there.

You don't need more than 650W unless you plan to do SLI in the future. You'd do well to decide now.

For gaming drop to the 2500k as HT won't improve ya fps and it will make CPU run hotter.

Putting anything other then the CP-850 in that case would be extremely unwise...where else ya gonna find a PSU that gets 10.0 jonnyguru performance rating for $115 ?

It is completely unmatched by any ATX unit on the market I can think of. You'd have to spend twice as much as this thing costs to find the next best thing, performance wise.

You specifically mentioned x16 x16. All of the options presented so far will do x8 x8. This will:

Great board which runs extremely cool..... the x16 x16 is gonna get you maybe 2% more fps on average with 560/570/580's in avg frame rates, tho some games like STALKER see as much as 10%....bit more of an impact on min frame rates.

If ya decide ya don't need x16 x16, and for whatever reason ya think ya need Z68 (I don't see anything pointing there in ya post), I'd get a GEN3 board. Decide if ya need Z68 by reading this:

SSD - Even a 64 GB model will be full in 6 months....I'd get a 120/128GB or not at all.
