Hello,

First of all - thank you for reading.

I would like help with assembling a new gaming computer, something that would and will run games for at least the next 3-4 years... So i humbly ask for help from those who know more than me about these things and components.

Price range is tops around $1800. I need everything except monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers and headset.

Sidenote: I was looking around at some things, like Thermaltake Urban T81 Full-Tower Chassis CA-1B7-00F1WN-00 Black, Rampage V Extreme motherboard, 16 GB DDR4, GeForce GTX 980, 250 SSD+ 2x 1TV 10000RPM HD, CPU Core i7... but with all the available sockets, connectors, options, benchmarks, frequencies, latencies etc., I feel really out of my league and depth. NONE of the above mentioned components are a requirement.

So i would appreciate any and all those who would like to help me in good will.

Thank you

Thank you for your input Sammy, I'm guessing others agree with this...?

Does anybody think I could gain longevity/performance for the new system in any way by spending $200-300 more? Maybe some different components or something?

@bootcher

1600x1200 minimum, prolly higher

For 200-300 more you can get a shiny new monitor, or 2 even. And do your gaming at high resolutions. 1600x1200 resolution is kinda low for this monster build, what good is having all that power and not pushing it to its limits ;-).

This build a more expensive but has the i7 (with the stock cooler which is good for non-overclocking builds), a nice motherboard, fast 2400 ram (some people report having higher minimum framerates with higher speed ram), and a great deal on the rosewill 80+ gold psu.
The case is one with good reviews, but it is a personal preference which case you take, there is no right/wrong in cases (usually).

Hello :
Please stop oversizing PSU !!!! With 1300W or even 750W you will have catastrophic efficiency
