how much extra is that faster memory costing? Memory is rarely a bottleneck so you can drop it down to 1333MHz and not take a significant hit, that should drop the price a fair bit. Rather than getting their generic PSU, see if it will let you select a 500-600W PSU from Corsair, Antec, or Seasonic, your average PSU that prebuilts get shipped with arent great.

Where are you buying this from? I did a rough pricing based on prices in my head and figured the parts and OS come out to about 1k, probably less so thats about a 10% price boost for them building it for you.

this is a better build as the 5870 is a good deal faster than the gtx 460 and it's a 6 core processor instead of a quad

it's a few bucks cheaper and I suggest you get a cooler master hyper 212+ to cool that CPU and do a bit of over clocking

dan4patriots made a good build, id just like to say that Seagate isnt that good anymore, i would go for a WD HDD,

5870 or a 5850 would be perfect.

Not sure if i'd go for that cpu ( i would go with a 955 BE)

The 870 mobo is good (you can also go with the gigabyte or asus versions of the 870)

Also the ram go at least 1333 and Max 1600 ( above 1600 its a waste even if you OC)
