Hi I'm looking to buy a new gaming desktop for around £900 / $1300. Don't know much about components but i am curious if there is anything wrong with this pre built I found on Amazon

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Freshtech-Motherboard-Performance-Certified-Barracuda-This-PC-Built-Zalman-Z11-Plus-Case/dp/B012X1LA1G/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8

as it seems to be a lot cheaper than other machines with 17 4k and a 970.

Also any suggestions of a better build / best budget components at around my price range would be amazing thanks!

The United Kingdom, What do you think my best option would be i also saw one on cyberpower where i picked the parts which was fairly well priced as well or is that the same type of bad thing?

It may be "On Sale", but even the sale price is more than the cost of the components.

still for a price comparison choosing a cheap psu low quality one doesnt seem right

Kind of hard to do an actual PRICE COMPARISON if you're not using the exact same components. The point of my post was to show that the price of the computer was £1191 (£899 on sale). I showed that the actual cost of the components was somewhat less than that. That was my only intention.

ohh then my bad...

I can't comment on UK prices.
It is not a bad pc as it is, but in terms of US prices, one can do much better.

For that budget, I would expect a i7-4790K and a Z97 motherboard.
CX corsair is only middling quality for a psu, one can do better.

Usually, one can do better building it yourself with better components.
If you are incapable of building(it is not hard) then pay a high school kid $100 to do it for you.

With Skylake now available, there is absolutely no question in my mind that a new build should be Skylake.
a. Prices for cpu, z170 motherboard and ddr4 ram are almost precisely the same.
b. 6600K has an estimated 5-10% performance improvement per clock over haswell.
c. 14nm runs cooler, you get a decent overclock without the need for exotic cooling.
d. The Z170 chipset permits the use of much faster ssd devices on the horizon. Samsung 950 pro for example:
http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/SSD/global/html/ssd950pro/overview.html
e. skylake can be upgraded in the future to kaby lake.

For gaming, 2 x 8gb is plenty.

And...
FWIW.
I will never again build without a ssd for the "C" drive. It makes everything you do much quicker.
120gb is minimum, it will hold the os and a handful of games. If you can go 240gb, you may never need a hard drive.

I would defer on the hard drive unless you need to store large files such as video's.
It is easy to add a hard drive later.
Samsung EVO is a good choice.
Intel 730 is OK too.

Update... I like the build from Gingerbread.

So that specific I5 will be better than that I7? Also is those 9 items in gingerbreads list everything i need to have a fully functioning computer or will i need other things aswell?
Thanks for the responses especially the people who found the parts of the pre built listed showing the true price of it!

this is a good option...
so basically this is what ur jst gaming so going for u i7 is useless... i5 will perform the same as an i7 in games.....
and 8gb of ram is more than enough for now and when u want like in 2 3 years u can jst put another 2x4gb cards the same model and ur good to go..
i would stay with 970 or a 980 for 1080p gaming and it will run for like 6 years maybe with ultra and high settings with decent fps..
either my build or the i5 build u have with the evga 970
