Hi! this is my first post here so If I mess up please let me know.

I'm about to build a desktop focused on gaming/3d modeling, will be using an ultra wide screen display (2560x1080), Unity/UE4 as my main softwares and heavily moded Skyrim.
I'm not planning on overclocking since the computer is going to be running about 100-120 hours a week and I much rather have low temps than extra performance (pc will be running about 20 hours a day). Also in the future I will be buying a second graphics card (sli/crossfire) so I have 2 options of psu, even thinking of getting the EVGA with a single card.

Intel build:

I5 4460 ($177.)
Corsair H100i ($81)
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI ($113)
Asus STRIXGTX970DC2OC4GD5 ($330) or Asus MARS760-4GD5 ($410 for the dual gpu)
Corsair 200R ($47)
Corsair CX600M ($45) or EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Full (109)
Corsair Vengeance 2x8 @1600 ($114)
Western Digital WD10EZEX ($50)
Kingston SV300S37A/120G ($52)

Total:1009 (single gpu) 1153 (dual gpu)
Amd build:

AMD FX-8350 ($165)
Corsair H100i ($81)
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ($95)
Sapphire R9 290x Tri-X ($300)
Corsair 200R ($47)
Corsair CX600M ($45) or EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Full (109)
Corsair Vengeance 2x8 @1600 ($114)
Western Digital WD10EZEX ($50)
Kingston SV300S37A/120G ($52)

Total: $949

Also was thinking of waiting a month or two for the prices on ddr3 to drop and perhaps get ddr4 with a i7 5820k and a single r9 280x since I've heard this card works fantastic for the buck.
Oh and I will be gaming with a VR headset.

The Intel build much more powerful than the AMD build, also get the evga PSU you'll need it if you plan to sli, here's about how much power you'll use. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2N2Lxr

Other than that your build looks solid, if you're looking into building with the i7 5820k try to get a better GPU, because the 280x isn't nearly as powerful as a 970.
