New Gaming Desktop But Slow Downloads

I have a new Gamig desktop and for some reason it won't download over 1mb but my laptop right next to it goes at 8mb I don't know if this one is good but if it is will it work with my msi z97 gaming 5 also my hdd is making a grinding noise anyway to fix also can I replace it with a ssd and which one while keeping my games

Do a speed test on http://www.speedtest.net/ on ur Desktop, also are u connected through wifi or an ethernet cable?
