New gaming laptop

Hi I want a new gaming laptop and wondering if anyone had any suggestions, I’m not sure on my budget yet though

What I want:

Something that’s good at normal tasks like browsing the web nice and smoothly and doing some photo editing

Hybrid storage

Nothing crazy (E.g) i7 gtx 1080

Preferably ryzen 5 or i5 and gtx 1050

Thin light weight design

Quiet

Lots of battery life

Very true. There will be very few laptops with that feature at this price point.
The one Finstar suggested (ryzen based unsurprisingly) offers a lot of punch for the money.

The R5 3550H would be quite a bit faster than the i5 8250U

Between the R5 3550H and i5 8300H it's a lot closer and mostly falls under the thermal solution used in the laptop.

The Ryzen 5 3550h is an extremely new CPU so its performance figures are hard to find. Given the performance between 2nd gen Ryzen mobile I5 CPUs and The I5 8300h, i think the I5 8300h would be a bit faster than the Ryzen.
The I5 8250u would be a bit slower.

So it doesn’t really matter if it’s ryzen or intel? And my other question is what’s better in terms of gpu because some come with igpu ryzen and some with gtx 1050 dedicated i5

Nearly all dedicated graphics like a 560x or 1050 will beat a Ryzen Igpu by alot. The laptop Finstal suggested has a 560x, which is better than a 1050.

Ok thanks for the help, I really appreciate it, when I get closer to time of purchasing and start to almost finalise my decision I will put the one I choose on the forums and ask for opinions
