Build Advice New Gaming PC (£1500 budget)

Hello everyone,

My current PC, which I built myself, needs replacing. I want to build a gaming PC and also I might try streaming at some point. I have a budget of around £1500. I have looked onto different websites but I always go for the best stuff and my budget does not allow it. I know that you don't need the best hardware but I am not an expert and I don't know what is the best stuff without making it an overkill.(and keep within budget of course)

I would like to have 2x 16GB RAM(32GB), one of those new faster SSDs (might be worth getting a secondary cheap one for storage and get a small size SSD to keep the cost down). Usually I would try to spend the most on CPU and Graphics card but again I am not sure what the best balance would be. Also I only have built one PC (my current one) and I have a tower case(57cm) which I think helped me build it easier so I would be looking to replace it with something similar. ( I want to replace it because I have used the same case for about 14 years). I usually try to spend the least on a monitor but I was told that if I am getting a good gaming PC I should invest more into a good one.

I would appreciate any help/suggestions from you guys as you are more knowledgeable than I am.

Thank you in advance!

Well, getting an all new build with a monitor is going to set you back well into mid-range territory rather than high end.

You could get better performance with a mid-range CPU and a higher end GPU. but if you are streaming you are going to need some extra oomph.

This is pretty low on the GPU stack, but you do get a nicer monitor. (Case is available in black or white)

I think this will match most of your needs, 13600K is awesome processor and combined with 32GB DDR4 3600 you should get stellar performance out of it (DDR5 is overpriced at the moment given the marginal performance advantage for the increase in price)
The 6750XT is the best price to performance given nVidia's main advantage is in Ray Tracing which is rarely used this should give you good performance up to 1440p. A combo of a 1TB SSD and a 4TB HDD should give you the mix of capacity a Performance you need at that budget.

This is what I'd do with your budget. I'd wait until January 3rd when Intel releases the locked cpu's along with the B760 boards and then I'd purchase the i5 13400F. Leaked benches out of Asia have that cpu going head to head with the 12600K and that's with an ES chip and crap bios. I posted a B660 DDR4 board in this build to give you a rough idea of the cost of a B760 DDR5 board .. just add 10% to the price of that board down below.

Hello Eximo,

Thank you for the suggestions. I might be able to increase my budget a little but I am not sure I want to spend much more. Maybe I would look into buying a monitor later, if I find a good deal and use my old one for now (which does the job but it is 60Hz). I am not 100% set on the streaming bit. I always wanted to try it and now it seems I might have to look for a new job so I thought if I am ever going to do it, now is the time to try.

Hello Why_me,

Thank you for the suggestions. Sounds like a good idea to wait for January 3rd it seems. I might be able to increase my budget a little but at £1500, it would be the most I have ever spent on a PC and in my head seemed like a reasonable number. I will take your suggestions into consideration.

Hello Ar558,

Thank you for your suggestions. You sound like a great salesperson. You got me excited before I even clicked the link you have posted. I will take your suggestions into consideration.

In that case, I would spend a little more on the GPU. The 3060Ti or 6750XT would be pretty good to go with.

You can downgrade to the 13400 that was also suggested to save another 100 or so.

That PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD is a good bargain, but you are losing out on top end performance. I feel direct storage is going to slowly become more necessary as game assets and textures start to get larger. But by the time that is commonplace you might be needing more video memory anyway.
