SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Games general computer usage. Main game I play at the moment is WoW and getting one that will be playable in the high stress raid encounters is desirable. I will likely be playing other games but am not after extreme performance

Well the base setup is good...
Get this PSU...Can handle 4770 crossfire and some overclock too...

Oh I just noticed that the motherboard doesn't support crossfire. Do you think I'd be better off buying a more expensive motherboard for the option?

Yes it would at your resolution, but you might save some money just getting a single 4870 which would be just right for your resolution.

bump it a 100 get an i7, can always add cards later, cant always add an I7, budget so close to best, do the best, dont settle for less....
