No wonder....😀

But like it is mentioned already, I highly recommend spending only a slightly few dollars for a i7-4790K and stay with the motherboard you have.

You may also want to look into a low profile RAM for clearance due to air cooler being big.

Then the rest is good.
If you are not going to be doing video processing, I would drop the CPU to an i5 and upgrade the 120gb SSD to a 256 one. If you use that for programs (which you should for fast loading times), you will find that games these days are pretty large and you will be have a full drive with just a few games installed on a 120 gb drive.

4790k is really not too much more and will give you the extra Mhz basicly for free.

I agree z87 will work it's not that much different for your uses

A larger ssd is a must 120 with windows and 3 mid sized games its almost full.
Almost all companies selling ssd's make a good product 240GB can be had for as low as 99 dollars not sure in pounds but the prices are way down on ssd's

Are you sure you can get the system you listed for 1,100? Just the GTX 780 is $500 in US and the CPU is over $300. Assuming the exchange rate and prices for the parts would match, that leaves you 300 for the MOtherboard, SSD, HD, Case, PSU and RAM. Your build is closer to $1,500.
