I am planning to build a mid range gaming PC. I originally planned on buying an i7 4790k with H100i but decided to go with the cheaper i5 4690k with air cooling, I am not planning playing extremely demanding games on the highest settings but will the difference in processor make much of a difference?

I currently have a 650ti that I am going to put in the build but plan to upgrade soon to a 970.

The current plan consists of:

i5 4690k
16gb DDR 3 RAM
650ti (temporary)
CX500
MSI Z97-GAMING 5
120gb Samsung SSD
1tb WD Blue
H440
Cooler Master RR-212E-16PK-R1 Hyper 212 Evo

I plan to run through LAN and will install windows with a USB

Are there any obvious flaws or changes that anyone would advise?

The Intel i5 4690K CPU is great for gaming. 16GB of RAM is overkill for gaming, stick with 8GB. Do not get the Corsair CX 500W PSU. It is low quality because of the thin gauge wiring and the basic safety circuitry. Choose a PSU from tier 1 or 2 in from this link: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html. Otherwise, it is a solid build. 😀
