New gaming pc crashes with nvidia drivers

Hello everyone. I just built a gaming pc (thanks to everyone on here who helped). My build consists of the following:

haf x case
i7 2600k
2 evga fermi 580s
asus maximus extreme 4 z68
creative titanium hd soundcard
crucial m4 ssd 128gb
seagate 1tb hd
noctua nh d14
coolermaster silent pro 1000w psu
windows 7 64bit professional
razor blackwidow ultimate
logitech g500
hpzr30w

I installed windows, then drivers for motherboard, lan, audio, etc.. Then windows started doing its automatic updates. While this was going on, I downloaded eset for antivirus protection. Then i installed the latest drivers for the hpzr30w. After all the updates finished, I tried to install the latest nvidia drivers from the website. My system bluescreens everytime right when it starts to install the nvidia drivers. I tried earlier drivers from nvidia's website and still get the same blue screen I have no nvidia control panel that I can see to verify im running my cards in sli (or enable). If i look in device manager i see under display adapters - intel hd graphics family, nvidia geforce gtx 580, nvidia geforce gtx580. I also got a bluescreen when logging onto windows once. I havent tried to play any games or install any other software yet. Please advise. Thanks again

It's possible that something got f---ed up during all of your updates. I usually update all of the drivers and than update all of the windows updates. Your mileage may vary, but that is usually what I do and I don't usually run into too many issues. You might need to do a clean install again and update your mobo drivers first before doing the windows updates. One other thing that I do is install my anti-virus program before windows updates too, for what it's worth.

ok, ill give this a shot. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but when reinstalling windows is it going to be an issue typing in the cd key again because i only paid for one user?

No question is stupid (unless you ask it 3 times in less than 10 min. ). No issues with re-typing in the CD key. Your hardware hasn't changed, so Windows will be happy with the key. You can get Windows issues with the CD key if you try and install the OS on a different computer (hardware is quite a bit different than the original install on the first computer).

lunyone! thanks so much..did the clean install and updated all drivers before doing the windows update..The nvidia control panel works fine and I enabled sli. I dont think I'm going to install the hp zr30w drivers, screen looks great. thanks again
