New Gaming PC...thoughts and opinions

As the title states, I'm building a new PC and want to keep my budget around 1100$

If you wouldn't mind checking my components and telling me how they look and what I can improve on with my budget.

I'm also curious on what type of cooling I should be using, thanks!

I thought about the z77, do you recommend that instead. The ram, HD and opticals are already taken care of and I didn't feel I needed guidance on those, but thanks for the replies!

buy the gpu from another manufacturer. powercolors build quality sux and it will likely fail inside 6 months. then you get the real bad news. no RMA service.

So I've Switched to this mobo:

The second motherboard you chose isn't really up to par with the first one.
If you want a good Z77 motherboard with lots of features at an affordable price go with this one instead.

You also need to upgrade the PSU.
The one you chose isn't really high quality.
The power supply i listed below is really good and, while still not enough for dual HD 7970's it is more than enough for one heavily overclocked HD 7970 and a 3570K at 4.7GHZ

As for the case, the Phantom has killer looks, but if you're ok with a more minimalistic design, you could save some money and go with one of those two

just be aware the new revisions of that gigabyte graphics card are voltage locked

theres no overclocking headroom

cant even go past an extra 25mhz on the gpu with mine

and it wont even let me flash the newer bios listed on their website--keeps saying its not for that card

even though the gigabyte software links me directly to the page for the card

its still a good card though
