Hi, looking to build a new pc. These are the specs:
Gtx 1070 strix
I7 7700k
Hyperx fury 16gb 2133mhz ram
Evga supernova g2 650w psu
1 tb hdd
250 gb ssd samsung 850 evo
Msi z270 a pro mobo
Cryorig H7 cpu cooler
Define r5 chassi
Any comments or recommendations are much appreciated! :) is the cpu cooler good ? Heard its better than the 212 evo. Thanks in advance

Solution
Phanteks P400 vs R5 : Phanteks looks cooler, has glass instead of crappy acrylic side panel, lights that can be controlled, also it is newer and fits the design of now, has hidden HDD and PSU shroud, and get great reviews like R5 did 2 years ago.

I almost bought that exact case but instead took a leap and tried a different design that is not like most cases...R5 was really popular...I got the InWin 303. It's not for everybody but case is important when you think about how you want to show off your case (to yourself).
Gotta get faster RAM...look for 3000MHz or at least 2666MHz. Also, the Cryorig H7 is fine but it won't help you overclock the 7700k. It runs hot and needs a 240mm rad cpu cooler or more to overclock.

Also, why not a NZXT case or wait for the new glass windowed Fractal cases.

Thanks for your advice man! The thing is liquid coolers are a bit out of both my budget and knowledge. I too heard that it got pretty hot but is there another solution ? I would like to keep water as far away from my pc as possible. For cooling my budget is 80€ at max

Thanks for the input on the ram, will make sure to get some faster ram. About the rad, can I pick whatever? What I mean is are most of them good or is there some not to pick ? Corsair has a few for around 100€. Also about the case, not really looking to have the fanciest setup. Thats a bit out of my budget tbh. I just wanna have a good gaming station without worrying about settings in the next 2 years or so

A good air cooler will suffice to keep your CPU running well. You may just have to adjust the fan curve to compensate for the heat but your case will be a bit loud because of it. Just apply a mild overclock while cooling on air and grab a decent AIO somewhere down the line if you want to apply a higher overclock.

Wow the chassi was supercool for an awesome price. Whats the difference between it and the define r5 ? Afterall Im going for performance so if the r5 is better I'll stick with it. What I mean is wich one is noisier etc. Ill look into the coolers you mentioned. Thanks!!

Thanks, I've made up my mind. Im going for the p400!

The r5 is quieter - hands down.
Whether you like the looks or not is user preference - I do which is why I own one.

As stated - faster ram 3000mhz is literally $10 more
The h7 is good enough for a reasonable overclock (in all honesty you don't need to overclock a 7700k anyway)

I'd take a good 140mm tower like the h5 over a 240mm aio if you want something better.

I've decided to go with the p400 case. Can you give me some advice on reasonably priced 3000mhz 16gb ram ? That arent vengeance since it wont fit with most coolers. Where I live 3000mhz is around 160€ and 2400mhz is 110€. Im on a kinda tight budget as you can tell. What temps do you think I'd get with the cryorig r1 ultimate if I oc my i7 7700k to 4.5 ghz ?

At that price difference I'd stick with 2400 MHz personally.

The r1 is a monster cooler , below 70c under load I'd say if case temps & airflow are good.

On a full atx board the r1 only encroaches on the slot closest to the CPU .
Meaning you are not really limited on ram height with just 2 sticks as you'll use slot 1 & 3 (front of board then 2 slots in )

That said its good practice & ram under 40mm will fit under the r1 fan anyway.

Corsair vengeance lpx
Crucial ballistix/sport
Kingston hyperx/fury

None of those will have an issue at all.

Ballistix sport 2400 (if available) has always proven to be immensely overclockable for me

Thanks so much! Thought I couldnt go with the vengeance which I really wanted as they're pretty cheap where I live

So when you say it will "just" fit an h5 do you mean the cooler will like touch the glass panel ?

No,it will have a 8mm to 10mm gap.
The r1 'may' fit with a couple of mm to spare but I personally wouldnt risk it.

Ive see builds with the h5 in a p400 case that are fine,Ive never seen a p400 build with an r1

Ok! really appreciate your help man. your a lifesaver. Do you think the h5 could cool my i7 7700k @ 4.5ghz without passing 75 celsius ?
