Hey everyone -

With the new generation of consoles out, I've decided I want to convert myself over to PC gaming, Here's the build I'm thinking about: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/zLCjJx

I'm working with a $1000 budget (or so) with a 1080p monitor (already owned).

I just wanted to make sure this ended up being the best bang for my buck in terms of gear. I'm hoping to play games like Watch Dogs, Bioshock Infinite, the new AC when it comes out in the fall, etc. all on ultra settings.

Please let me know :)

Are you going to be overclocking?
Also, there are better Z97 boards out there, which are also cheaper. Have a look at ASUS Z97 Boards.

A bigger SSD will cost him a lot of money. For gaming it is useless unless you are playing a massive singl player game (but the amount of time you would save would not be worth it). But yes, he should get a 600 watt or 550 at least. Plus that is a bleh PSU.

you should check the prices of SSD's. I saw a 500(or 512) that was $240-50 bucks the other day. that's not expensive.

and it's not useless for gaming, especially on line gaming. if you can get in a map quicker because the level loads quicker you have an advantage.

try loading a level on a HD in BF4.......... then try an SSD...................

Blackbird has the best solution, but you won't be running Watch Dogs on ultra, but on high (depending on if you want a smooth FPS or not). As of right now, nothing can run it on ultra haha. Actually, due to the performance issues with the game, there is no way of telling how the 760 will do. Anyways, high is fine in that game. If you can save up a bit more for a WD black, I always recommend that over the blue. Personally, I would ditch the SSD, and put that money towards a GTX 770 or AMD 280x. You will get a better performance in games for a slightly slower boot and OS speed. The WD black is fast anyways, so you wouldn't have a slow system with your OS on it. If you get a 770 or 280x, switch the XFX PSU that blackbird picked out to one that is 600 or more watts.

The cooler is just there for the cool looks in a case with window and of course to keep the cpu cooler,with the resistor cable used is the sound good too.
If the cooler isn't necessary could you go for the i5 4590.

I wasn't planning on over clocking, especially since I'm still just learning about computer hardware, though I know in the future it might be needed, thanks for all the advice so far!

For the gpu yes.

You still use the non overclockable 4570 with the Z97 motherboard which is for overclocking.
If you take a good look at my build will you see a motherboard very similar to your choice,but not for overclocking (not entirely true) and a newer cpu which is the same speed and cheaper as your choice.
The psu is overkill for just one gpu and not overclocking.My choice is cheaper (at least in the partpicker,goes for all parts).For that combination of parts is 550watt more than enough.

Hey RBSteinberg14, this build above me by blackbird will give you the best performance and will allow you to run everything on ultra.
