New Gaming Rig

Hi, i am building a gaming pc. I would like to know what you guys think and what parts i should go with

Case: Cooler Master Storm Enforcer
Motherboard: Asus Z77 - LK OR ASRock Extreme4
Processor: Intel i5 3570k
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 670
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 1600 ddr3 LOW PROFILE
PSU: Corsair TXV2 750W OR Corsair TX 750W Modular
Hard Drive: Western Digital 1tb caviar black 7200rpm

What would you guys change, whats a better mobo and psu? I do not want a ssd. I plan to sli in the future which is what the 750w is for.

I should also add budget wise im around 1000 for the parts above, without os, monitor, etc.
Im in canada, so sites such as canada computers, tiger direct, new egg. Building it in the next 2-3 weeks. Thanks!

It offers more fan mounts than the enforcer, which means better cooling.

Mobo: Go with the ASRock board. Asus boards are a bit pricey

Processor: Looks good. Thumbs up.

Graphics card: That's a great choice...just make sure you get one with a custom cooler such as this one...

PSU: Reliable brand, 80+ bronze, modular, 750w...has all the features I'd look for.

One more thing, NCIX.com is a great online canadian vendor. You may want to compare some of their prices with newegg. Might be able to save a few dollars. Just look out for shipping charges and taxes.

Case: great recommendation, i like that case too, but it costs a little more than the storm enforcer. ill decide between them for sure. also what do you (or anyone else) think of the antec eleven hundred?

Mobo:The asus lk mdoel is basically the same price as the extreme4, i understand that asus has better quality products and the particular lk model would be fine for gaming (as it is sli/crossfire compatible, 16x and 8x/8x in sli/crossfire, correct?). But the asrock has more features, though i don't really understand what features, if you or anyone else could explain to me the benefits (and also cons) of owning one over the other that would be great.

Graphics card: i was actually considering the EVGA FTW model, do you think thats better than the gigabyte? evga seems to offer way better service.

PSU: basically the same price, so ill stick with corsair (the modular is on sale for 99.99 at canada computers)

HDD: i like western digital because of the 5 year warranty, im striving for great quality as well as performance.

Antec 1100? I'm not too crazy over the antec cases. However, they're pretty alright. Nothing wrong with 'em. All it comes down to is personal preference. The antec 1100 actually looks pretty good. I'd also recommend this case...

Mobo: In that case, the only difference I see between those boards is the ASRock has 2 extra 6Gb/s sata ports. Everything else is pretty much on par...except the asrock board is $15 cheaper on newegg. Not really any benefits, except this allows you to add more drives that are compatible with 6Gb/s...pretty much just more HDDs and SSDs. However, if you don't really care about that, the Asus board would also be a great choice. I much prefer the Asus board's UEFI/Bios menu over the ASRock's.

GPU: The EVGA FTW gtx 670 would also be an excellent choice. It's stock clock is a bit higher than that of the Gigabyte, I just much prefer the gigabyte's custom cooler and slimmer look.

I think ill go with the asus, however from looking at benchmarks, i didnt realize that bf3 made nvidia cards seem better than they really were. when comparing to other games a large portion AMD cards are better, (the 7970 and 7950). Do you think the 7870 would be a good choice? can it run bf3 ultra at around 50-60 fps? Its only 299.99. Thanks!

I agree, but the tomshardware benchmark doesnt include 1080p ultra settings (which is what id be playing at). Im basically trying to figure out if the extra 100 is worth it in the long run. I can also crossfire a 7870 for a lot cheaper in the future or replace it all together in a few years. hm.

Well, I do know that at 1080p ultra settings it's not going to be capped at 60fps all the time. But the 7870 would be a great card. You may get frequent dips into the low 40s sometimes even the mid 30s during big explosions. That would be my guess. If you need to save money, the 7870 would be an excellent option. You may even find a decent 7950 for around $330. Personally, I'd stick with the gtx 670. That card just can't be beat for price/performance. Beasty card. It's got my vote. Gonna be grabbing my build sometime in August or September, and I'm gonna make that smexy gigabyte gtx 670 fit in my $1200-1300 budget, lol. =D
