Hello guys,

I am thinking about updating my equipment. I'm a gamer but mainly playing League of Legends and CS:GO, so nothing really fancy. This is my setup for the last 3 years:

GPU: GeForce GTX 770
CPU: AMD FC-8350 Eight-Core Processor
Memory: 8 GB RAM
OS: Windows 7
Motherboard: ASRock 990FX Extreme 3

I'm not up to date with hardware at all but I am looking for a new setup which doesn't have to be ways better. I don't know how much an update will cost me at all but if you could just give me ideas as a list with prices that would be really helpful. If you're happy to give reasons why you recommend your setup feel free to share them with me!

Any useful information would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Depends on what refresh rate you're playing at. If you're satisfied with your GPU's performance, then you could easily get by with an upgrade to the CPU. Here's what I'd recommend:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4GHz 6-Core Processor ($170.98 @ Newegg Business)
Motherboard: ASRock - B450M-HDV Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($71.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($154.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $397.95

Ryzen is LIGHT YEARS faster than the poor FX series. It will also give you quite a bit of wiggle room should you choose to start streaming. If you feel that you need to upgrade your GPU (you probably will to play the latest titles), I would wait until the 11-series releases in August and look into either the 1160/70. Can run you anywhere from $250'ish to $400 depending on the model/availability. Note that if you're overclocking, you might want to invest in a slightly more capable board.

1000 Euros will be WAY more than enough for a complete system upgrade. Do you have an SSD in your system? Worth is something only you can determine. I can advise you on some of the parts that have the best value, but the upgrade being worth the money is something left to you entirely. What country do you live in? Knowing so will help me get you better accuracy with pricing and all that. What are your current system specs?

I am living in Germany. I own an SSD and I plan on getting a new GPU! I think I need a better cooling system too, it's bloody hot in my room!

My advice is to wait and keep your money for now. At least until the end of August so that we can know for sure whether Nvidia will truly release a new series or not.

Also Intel is, supposedly, going to release a new line of a refreshed CPUs along with an 8 core processor, so if you prefer AMD, they may change their prices, depending on the price/performance ratio of Intel new processors.

Although there is nothing confirmed for now, with these rumors and leaks floating around I suggest that you postpone your upgrade plans, especially that you have a good build and you don't have issues in it.

I am actually having issues! Low FPS even if I play with really low quality.
