New Gaming System Advice Please

Get a 4690K. It's cheaper and better.

The 960x2 is a joke. Get either a 970 or a 290X.

Change the PSU. The CX series should be avoided when possible. Look at XFX, Seasonic or EVGA (G2, GS, B2) PSU's.

You don't need 16GB of RAM for gaming. 8GB is more than enough.

You could add components (e.g. SSD) with this build or upgrade other components.

Please don't buy gtx 760 when you can buy gtx 970 for 340$ xD. 970 performs a LOT better and it's cheaper. Also you could buy the i5- 4690K (Basically the 4670K but improved)

If you're going to use this for gaming only (no video editing etc.) then 16gb of ram is an overkill. There's no difference between 8 and 16gb's while gaming.

I think you should up the CPU to the 4690k and MB is fine but I think 16GB of memory is overkill and you can get away with 8GB just fine. The HDD is fine but I would recommend a SSD for the boot drive with some of the money you can save with the memory drop. If you went with a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB for the boot drive it would cost $108.24 on Amazon right now and that would make a big difference. I would also go with a different GPU. Spending $411 on a 760 is crazy. You have a 1080p monitor so I would look at either the GTX 960 or 970 and save a bunch of money and get a better card. I have 2 MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4's and they are great. For 1080p you don't need that much and a 960 or 970 would be better than the 760 and cost a lot less. You can get the MSI 960 Gaming 2G for $199.99 after rebate on Newegg and the MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G for $344.99 on Newegg.

total delay, Frag hadn't posted when I started typing but I agree completely. I think that the 960 would work as well and take the extra saving to get an SSD for sure.

It wasn't going to be for gaming only, I probably should have mentioned that. I don't do video editing but I do 3d animation in Blender, mostly some pretty minor stuff currently but if I can get a better machine I can do more.
Thanks for the recommendations on the gpu and cpu though

3d animation is out of my realm but I know that applications usually use more CPU and memory and games are more GPU. Usually. If the applications are thread heavy then the i7 is definitely better than the i5 as the i5 doesn't do hyperthreading and is a quad-core where the i7 is a quad core but has 8 threads. I would also then go with 16gb RAM instead of 8gb and look for 1866-2133 for the speed. if you can find faster for the same price though you can never go to fast.
