Question New Geforce RTX: crashes

It doesn't matter the game, it seems whenever I push the new geforce I got the PC just falters. It is a strong PC, good power supply- I am trying to find out where the weakness is and troubleshoot. I have an Oculus Rift- the crash happens both on normal and VR games. Games that my Geforce 970 with a heatsink could handle.

I have an Intel Core i&-5820K CPU @ 3.30 ghz
64 gb RAM 2133 mhz DIMM
Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 Super
64 bit Windows 10
900 Watt power
Gigabyte motherboard X99-UD5 Wifi-CF X.X

I have a single SSD, and a new Western Digital Black drive. The Geforce is new as well. This is a new install of windows.

What exact PSU. good power supply doesn't mean very much.

When you say it crashes during gaming, does it simply restart, or crash to desktop or blue screen?
