The Facts:
I know my GPU works because it was working on my last build 2 days ago. I bought it 2 weeks ago.
I know my motherboard and CPU work because when I take the GPU out my PC boots and runs perfect with the onboard graphics.
For some reason the GPU is not working with the new motherboard.
GPU: Asus TUF GAMING OC GeForce RTX 5070
MOBO: GIGABYTE Z790 S WiFi DDR4 LGA
CPU: Intel Core i9-12900KS 3.4 GHz
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-4000 CL18 Memory
I know my power connection to the GPU is correct because I had it right on my previous build from 2 days ago. All other parts listed were part of the old build. The Motherboard is the only new component. Well besides my new CPU cooler but I assume that is irrelevant. If not, here it is: ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 280 A-RGB 69.9 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
No idea why I should be getting a VGA error with a graphics card and CPU that I know are working. And the MOBO works too when I take the card out. I guess my only theory would be that the PCI slot is toast. There are two others but they are so close to the outlets for my tower's panel buttons that there is not enough room for my 5070 on them. So unfortunately the primary PCI port is the only one I have access too. I am stumped. Any suggestions appreciated.
