HL2 and Farcry are great. Try the demo's first. Doom 3 and MOHPA have demos too.

Doom3 would make full use of that graphics cards capabilitys. HL2 would be the next best in utilizing that graphics card. HL2 is a much better game than D3 so if you had to decide between one or the other get HL2. Doom3 is just eye candy, the game kinda stinks 🙁

pirates hardly classifies as a strategy game does it? Sure it's fun and addictive but I wouldn't actually advise someone to buy it given that 10 minutes play covers just about everything u will do in the game
